Bloomingdale - Services will held for, Sheryl Katsock, 50, of this community, who died on Tuesday December 29,2020. Born in Pompton Plains, Sheryl was raised in Pompton Lakes. She was a graduate of the Class of 89 of Pompton Lakes High School. She previously resided in Greenwood lake until recently moving to Bloomingdale in 2008. Sheryl was a true renaissance woman, and often joked that she was a fountain of useless information...It was far from useless! She loved her family, friends and community. Sheryl was often referred to as the unofficial mayor of the community as she administered the unofficial Bloomingdale community page and was also a member of the Bloomingdale Fire department ladies auxiliary. She made her presence known, a loud voice commanding the room. She often enjoyed a good laugh even if it was the most inappropriate time or place. She always stood up for what she believed in and was there for anyone in need. To all those touched by Sheryl.... May you always smile when you think of her amazing passion for all life, all animals and all music. The love she had for her daughter was the truest love! A mothers love is something special, we should all be so lucky to have a relationship as strong as theirs. Private services were held at The Morrison Funeral Home, Butler NJ. Sheryl Katsock is survived by her devoted husband, George Katsock of Bloomingdale, her beloved daughter Taylor Douglas of Bloomingdale, her loving mother Christine Troast, her dear siblings, Kathy Roos and Tim Troast all of Pompton lakes, her nephews, Shawn Conklin and Travis Conklin also of Pompton lakes. She is also survived by nieces ,Kathryn Katsock, Jessica Katsock of Wanaque, Nicholas and Robert Katsock of Bloomingdale and Rachel Zabelka of Butler. She was predeceased by her father Timothy Troast, her nephew Eric Conklin, and beloved father of Taylor, Jerry Douglas. A Grave side service will be offered Monday January 4th, 2021 11am at Mt Rest Cemetery, Butler, NJ.
