Susan Marie Maloney

Sometimes you get to choose your battles, and sometimes they choose you. After a two year battle with breast cancer, Susan passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, in the comfort of her daughter's home on November 11, 2015. Susan is survived by her beloved daughter and son-in-law Brittany and Colin Nagy, her long time partner Matthew Magill, as well as her sister and brother-in-law Janis Orrico and Michael Plunkett, her nephew and niece John and Renee Orrico, and her great niece Gianna Orrico. Despite the circumstances Susan remained full of love, laughter, and determination to keep living life to the fullest while continuing to fight every day. Throughout her fight, she forever remained full of hope and determination to beat the disease. Susan was an Administrative Secretary at Geisinger Medical Center in the Radiology department. Here she was surrounded by friends that became family and continued to work and take pride in her job throughout the course of her treatments. Her greatest joys were spending time with friends and family, sharing her sarcastic humor and whit, preparing and enjoying many meals and simply loving life. Susan will be truly missed by her loving family and friends. Her love of life and laughter will forever be held in our hearts. Services to honor Susan's life will be held at Morrison's Funeral Home in Butler NJ Monday, November 16th from 4-8pm. At the request of the family the funeral and burial will be kept private. Susan's fight with breast cancer ended too early, as she was about to enter a clinical trial offered at Lehigh Valley Health Network, a partner facility of Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital. She would love nothing more than for research to continue in the treatment of triple negative breast cancer. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Nair Research Fund.
