Alan Jeffrey Gashler

It is with great sadness that the family of Alan Jeffrey Gashler announces his passing on July 3. 2018. He will forever be remembered by his loving wife Theoni Sapounas-Gashler, their precious son August (Gus) Jack Gashler, his mother Irene Gashler, his father Alan J. Gashler and his wife Dorothy, his sister Melanie Gashler, his in-laws Scott and Maureen Nolan, sister in law Katie Miceli and her husband Nick, his aunts Carla Gray and Judith Gashler, cousins James, Jennifer, Renee, and Dawn and many beloved friends. He was predeceased in death by his uncle/godfather John "Uncle Jack" Ramsay. Jeff grew up in Pequannock New Jersey and graduated from Pequannock Township High School. He learned many trades as a roofer, motorcycle mechanic, tattoo artist, and a welder. At the time of his passing he was an iron worker with Local 580. Jeff loved making and listening to music and he enjoyed his times playing in several bands. He was a artistic, creative, and talented, spending many years as a tattoo artist at different New Jersey shops. Jeffs enormous heart could be best seen when he was with his son Gus, whom he loved more than life itself. He was an amazing Dad, never missing an opportunity to spend time with his son. Jeff loved to travel and he and Theoni spent a lot of their free time visiting their favorite spots on the Cape. They recently took Gus in a VW camping van across Utah and Colorado, Jeff had an affinity for the VW bus which was instilled by Uncle Jack. Jeff will be remembered for his sense of humor, creativity, but mostly his devotion to his friends and family. A memorial for Jeff will be held at The Morrison Funeral Home 86 Bartholdi Ave Butler, NJ from 12-3pm on Sunday July 8th 2018.Friends and family are invited to join in remembering and celebrating the amazing human being Jeff truly was at the Butler Fire House 28 Carey Ave Butler, NJ immediately following.
