Albert 'Albie' Or 'Big Al' Willi Walzer, Jr.

August 10, 1958 — June 21, 2020

Albert William Walzer, Jr. ("Albie" or "Big Al") Albert William Walzer, Jr., husband of the late Megan McCracken Walzer, died at his home in Butler, NJ on Sunday, June 21, 2020. He was 62 years old. Son of the late Albert William Walzer, Sr. and Dorothy Hofferman (Snyder), Albert Walzer Jr. was born on August 10, 1958 at St. Marys Hospital in Passaic, NJ. He grew up in Pompton Lakes with his family, including sisters, Bobbi and Kathy. After graduating from Pompton Lakes High School, he followed in the footsteps of his father and began what would turn out to be a long, successful career in the roofing industry. Walzer Roofing Company was started in 1968 by Albert Walzer, Sr. Although Al Jr. did not begin his roofing career there, he eventually joined the family business. When Al Senior retired in 1995, Al Jr. took the reigns as president. Al has always been proud of his hard work and his contributions that built Walzer Roofing into the successful business it is today. Throughout his career, Al formed many bonds and friendships and that he cherished up until his final days. Al met his wife, the late Megan McCracken Walzer, at their favorite pub in Bloomingdale, and it was love at first sight! They were married on September 16, 1995 and their wedding reception at the Town Tavern in West Milford was one for the books!! Although Al and Megan never had children of their own, they had nieces and nephews who they loved very much. And their real "babies" were their dogs. From their first dog, a cocker spaniel named Roxy, to the Great Danes they fostered and adopted (Shelby, Cole, Sebastian, and Indy) Al and Megan showered their animals with love and gave them the wonderful life they all deserved. Al and Megan loved to travel. From cruises with the PAMPCO group (back in the "Good old Days"), to trips to the Jersey Shore with family and friends, they always enjoyed making new memories together. Al was loved by everyone who met him and was known for his sharp wit and his ability to put a smile on anyones face. Al is survived by his sisters, Barbara Vieth and husband John, Kathleen Decker and her husband Wayne, sister-in-law Heather Grecco and her husband John and nieces and nephews.
