Albert J. Svetalavich

Albert J. Svetalavich, age 87, of Oak Ridge, formerly of West Paterson and Toms River, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at his home. Mr. Svetalavich was born in Scranton, PA the son of the late Simon and the late Mary (Stravinskas) Svetalavich. He served in the Navy during World War II and was employed by General Motors in Englewood, NJ. Albert graduated with a BA from Scranton University and was a part of the varsity basketball team, 1946-1947 and the varsity track team in 1948. He enjoyed watching basketball and singing as a hobby. He is survived by his beloved daughters, Judith A. Biondello and husband Joseph M. of Oak Ridge, NJ and Patricia A. Poswencyk and husband Douglas of Hillsborough, NJ and three cherished grandchildren, Daniel J. and Matthew A. Biondello and Andreas Poswencyk. Albert was pre deceased by his devoted wife Dolores of 56 years. A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, May 18th ,2013, from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm at The Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler, NJ. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 1:30pm also at the funeral home. Cremation was private.
