Ann Kathryn Then

Ann Kathryn Then (nee Creeden) formerly of Kinnelon, NJ, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, March 27th. Ann was born in New York, NY on August 13, 1932 to Daniel and Mary (nee Sullivan) Creeden. Her father was born in Rosendale, NY to Irish immigrant parents from County Cork, Ireland while Her mother had emigrated from County Kerry. Residing in Staten Island, Ann was their beloved and only child. Ann graduated from Sacred Heart High School and went on to Good Counsel College in White Plains, NY, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. She established her career at Strahman Valves in Florham Park, NJ. She married her beloved husband, Herbert M. Then, on April 27th, 1962, and moved to Kinnelon where they raised their family. As a member of the local community, she was active as a class mother and Catechism instructor. She was renowned for her love of literature and languages. She went on to become a knowledgeable member of the Kinnelon Library staff. Ann is survived by her three daughters, Linda Then, Susan Prediger (and her husband Armin), Julia Carpico (and her husband Brad), and her four cherished grandsons, Max and Milo Prediger of Galway, Ireland and Nicholas and Christian Carpico of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She is predeceased by her parents, Daniel and Mary, as well as her husband Herbert. Cherished wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law and dear friend to many, she will be remembered always in our hearts for her ever-present wry sense of humor. She was sweetness embodied. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, April 4th, 2022 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Magnificat Church in Kinnelon. . There are no gallery images.
