Anna Oakes

August 22, 1926 — May 2, 2006

Anna Oakes, of Bloomingdale, N.J., otherwise known by all as "Betty", was awonderful sister, aunt and friend. Those of us whoknew her took the good with the bad when it came toher, but above all knew that she loved all of us nomatter what. She had many passions - fishing (lake & deep sea),crocheting, knitting, ceramics and of course travel -she was a woman who was always on the go, she couldn'tsit still - wouldn't slow down - that's what kept hergoing. One of her fondest memories is going to Hawaii withthe Butler Senior Citizens Group, one of the placesshe always wanted to go. She's been to Maine,Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Florida, Missouri, too manyplaces to list here. She was a home health aid for twenty plus years takingcare of those who could not take care of themselvesand she loved her job. She became friends with manyof her patients and made them things to brighten theirdays, a pair of slippers, a blanket, etc. She wantedeveryone to have something special from her. Herfamily knows this as well because she has given us somuch of herself over the years. Anna is pre deceased by her husband George, and is survived by her sisters, Millie Provini,of N.J., Jeane Bond of SC, Lois Hicks of FL, Rita Kudrajashev of CA., and sister in law of Juanita Dorst.
