Anthony 'Tony' Marino

Anthony "Tony" Marino, age 83, of Butler , N.J. passed away on Monday, May 10, 2010. Tony was born February 21, 1927 in the Bronx , N.Y. to the late John Marino and the late Giovinina (Gentile) Marino. He retired in 1985 after a successful 32 year career as an Accountant for Exxon Corporation. He served as Technician 5th Grade of the Army of the United States and received an honorable discharge on December 2, 1946. A graduate of Pace College , he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in June, 1953. Tony met his future wife, the late Jean (Laudonio) Marino at her sweet sixteen birthday party. They subsequently married July 2, 1949, enjoying a happy marriage for 60 years until Jean's death on November 5, 2009 at the age of 81. Their cherished daughter, the late Lorraine (Marino) Calitri passed away March 5, 2010 at the age of 51. Tony is survived by his beloved son Steven. Tony is also survived by his close friend and son-in-law, Chaz F. Calitri, and his adored granddaughters, Lydia (11) and Isabelle (9), who were the lights of his life. In addition, he is survived by his sister Angela Mandra, her husband Salvatore Mandra and niece and nephew Carol and Robert Mandra. Viewing hours will be Sunday, May 16th, 2010, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at The Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Ave. , Butler , N.J. A funeral mass will be held Monday, May 17th, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church in Butler, N.J. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne , N.Y. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Saint Jude's Children's Hospital.
