Barbara Jean Moy of Newton, N.J formerly from Butler N.J passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 6th, 2022 with her family by her side. Barbara was 80 years old. She passed away just four days before her 81st birthday. She was born Barbara Jean Springstead on August 10, 1941 to the late Doris M.Springstead (Lozaw) and the late Thomas A. Springstead. She was raised in the Montville/Towaco area. Barbara was a newlywed and is survived by her loving husband James P. Moy of Newton, N.J. She is preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Richard F. Paddock. Barbara was the loving mother of three children. She is preceded in death by her son Richard Paddock and her daughter Elizabeth A. Paddock. Barbara will be missed beyond measure by her daughter Susan D. Paddock and her daughter in law Stephanie Joyner. She leaves behind four grandchildren, who are heartbroken over the loss of her and will cherish her memory forever, Candie C. Paddock-Smith and her husband Robert J. Smith, Barbara L. Sullivan and fianc Daniel Valerio, Heather Luna and her husband Robert Luna, and Richard Paddock and his longtime girlfriend Victoria Viviani. Barbara was the great-grandmother of twelve great-grandchildren who "loved her to the moon and back", Cameron, Isaiah, Isabela, Daniel, Kody, Aaden, Dhariyela, Zyel, Envy, Roxie, Robert Jr., Rumie, and Ryder. Barbara was a natural caregiver. Not only did she raise her own children, she also helped raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also helped raise her younger brothers and sister. Barbara was the third of ten children in her family. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Donald Springstead, David Springstead, George Springstead, and Pierson (Pete) Springstead. Barbara leaves behind her sisters, Doris (Winky) Wright, Mindy Stavropoulos, and her brothers Thomas Springstead, Wallace Springstead, and Kenneth Springstead. She loved them all immensely. Barbara Jean was a fighter from the beginning. At the age of 7, she was diagnosed with Wilms tumor, a rare form of kidney cancer, and was not expected to survive, but she did. This would be the first of many battles and surgeries that she would fight through. She was also a survivor of lung cancer. Barbara enjoyed cooking, especially for her family and she liked to play cards with friends. She had a soft spot for animals and children. Barbara had a green thumb and always grew the most beautiful roses. She loved to sing and did so beautifully. She was an intelligent woman who was open minded, caring, warm, and understanding. You could talk to her about anything, she gave good honest advice, and gave the best hugs. She was the cornerstone of our family and our lives are forever changed without her. To Barbara, family was always most important and taught her loved ones what it truly means to love and be loved unconditionally. The loss of Barbara is devastating, especially for those closest to her. We find comfort only in knowing that she rests in peace and we will meet her again one day in Heaven. A service for Barbara will be held at Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home, on Saturday, August 27th, 2022 starting at 10 a.m. to receive family and friends, with her service beginning at 11 a.m. at the address 86 Bartholdi Ave. Butler, N.J.
