Barbara Jean was a fighter from the beginning. At the age of 7, she was diagnosed with Wilms tumor, a rare form of kidney cancer, and was not expected to survive, but she did. This would be the first of many battles and surgeries that she would fight through. She was also a survivor of lung cancer. Barbara enjoyed cooking, especially for her family and she liked to play cards with friends. She had a soft spot for animals and children. Barbara had a green thumb and always grew the most beautiful roses. She loved to sing and did so beautifully. She was an intelligent woman who was open minded, caring, warm, and understanding. You could talk to her about anything, she gave good honest advice, and gave the best hugs. She was the cornerstone of our family and our lives are forever changed without her. To Barbara, family was always most important and taught her loved ones what it truly means to love and be loved unconditionally. The loss of Barbara is devastating, especially for those closest to her. We find comfort only in knowing that she rests in peace and we will meet her again one day in Heaven.
