Beatrice Guenter

Beatrice Ryan Guenter passed away at home on November 25, 2023, at age of 100. Born on November 18, 1923, in Butler, NJ to Timothy and Sarah Ryan, she spent the majority of her life in Butler. A devoted parishioner at St. Anthony’s in Butler, she was also a former member of the Butler XYZ Club and the Rosary Altar Society.

Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clifford, her son Clifford (Kip), her brother John Ryan, and her sisters Mary Hannigan, Winnie Gladis, Josephine Erwin, Eileen Van Orden, and Noreen O’Hara.

She graduated from Butler High School and St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing, subsequently working for many years at Chilton Hospital as a Registered Nurse in Employee Health. Beatrice continued to cherish the company of her retired nurse friends.

In her later years, she relocated to Cedar Crest in Pompton Plains, where she relished various activities and formed numerus friendships. Additionally, she spent many winters in Hollywood, Florida, reveling in the company of her friends.

Beatrice is survived by her children Judith Earley (Tom), Barbara Labonia (Frank), Steven Guenter (Lynn), five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one more on the way.

A Memorial Visitation will be held at Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Ave,  Butler on Wednesday, November 29th, from 4pm to 8pm, with the Funeral Mass taking place at St. Anthony’s Church in Butler at 11am on Thursday.
