Birdsall L. Cooper, age 85, life long resident of Butler, died Sunday, July 19, 2015 surrounded by his family. Mr. Cooper was born in Butler, NJ the son of the late Birdsall S. and the late Mavourenne (Hiller) Holt. He served in the Army during Korean War in the 24th Infantry Signal Corp and received two Bronze Service Stars, was Member and Former Commander of VFW Post #8096 in Butler, a member of the American Legion John A. Dean Post #154, he worked for the Boro of Butler as a Power Lineman and was a member of the Butler Fire Department in the Kinney Hose Co. and formerly of the Pequannock Engine and Hose Co. He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 loving years, Margery (Sisco) Cooper, his beloved children, Michael Cooper and wife Sharon, James Cooper and Suzanne Behnke and husband Jerry, six cherished grandchildren, Ryan and Julia Cooper, Eric Cooper and Jerry, Jarrett and Jake Behnke. Viewing hours will be Wednesday, July 22nd, 2015 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm at The Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler, NJ. The funeral Service will be held Wednesday at 8:00pm also at the funeral home. All other service will be held in private. www.themorrisonfuneralhome.com
