Obituary Brandon Y Engracia - El Paso, Texas 28 years old, passed away on Thursday, October 21st, 2021 at the Fort Bliss Military Base in El Paso, Texas. He was welcomed into heaven by his father Efren Engracia, (Philippines); and his grandparents Macario Ybanez, Mary Ybanez and Generoso Engracia. He is survived by his mother Flordeliz Ybanez Baculio, step father Percival Baculio and his brothers Bryan Engracia, Paul Engracia, (Belleville, NJ) grandmother Aurora Solosa Engracia (101 years old Manila, Philippines). He is also survived by his beloved extended family, mom Millie Stires, brother Jesse Thompson (Riverdale, NJ) aunt Michele Costa (Ringwood, NJ) as well as many loving cousins, aunts and uncles. Brandon was born on August 3rd, 1993 at Christ Hospital in Jersey City, NJ to Efren Engracia and Flordeliz Baculio. He grew up in Belleville, NJ. On March 29th, 2011 Brandon Engracia enlisted in the United States Army reserves. At this time, he began his career and started his fight for this country. He attended Basic combat training at Fort Jackson, SC on June 13th, 2011. Once completed, he attended AIT (advanced individual training) which began July 12, 2012 at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, where he became qualified as a Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear Specialist (74D). He was then assigned to the 320th Chemical Company (CBRN) in Fort Toten, NY and 411th Chemical Company (CBRN) in Edison, NJ. During his time in the Reserves Brandon Engracia had earned the title as a (NCO) a Non-Commissioned Officer where he was held to greater standards. After SGT Engracia had been in the reserves for 7 years, he was ready to take his journey to a greater extent for his country. So, in 2018 he transitioned to Active duty and left his home to go to Advanced Individual Training (AIT) Fort Benning, GA to become qualified and trained as a (19K) M1A2 Tank Crewman. SGT Engracia was assigned to Fort Bliss, TX where he served as a Tank crewman in Delta Company, 2nd Battalion, 13th Armored Regiment. While he was there, he was sent on a rotational deployment overseas to South Korea, where he would earn his title as a qualified gunner, earning his tanker boots and becoming a qualified crew. He later transferred to serve as part of the 4th battalion, 70th Armored Regiment, "Thunderbolts". SGT Engracia Military Award and Decorations Consist as follows: Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, (1OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Reserves Component Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, and Overseas Service Ribbon, German Armed Forces Badge. Brandon joined NAVES in February 2016 where he met Chris Imbrenda and became very close friends. He served the squad as an operational assistant, Lieutenant and EMT and rode regularly every Monday night and Thursday night. He was a unique individual and always gave great care and genuine concern for the patients in his care, he was an ambitious and energetic young man who helped form the NAVES special operations division which helped develop our honor guard and dress uniforms policy. He will be missed by all his NAVES EMS brothers and sisters. Brandon also joined the Verona Rescue Squad in 2016 where he also served as an EMT. Brandon was a strong and spirited man who made an impression on everyone he met. He will be deeply missed. Family and friends would like to thank all of you who were a part of Brandons life. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to The Morrison Funeral Home, North Arlington Volunteer Emergency Squad and Verona First Aid Squad.
