Bro. Thomas Sullivan O.F.M.

SULLIVAN - Brother Thomas B., O.F.M., of St. Anthony Friary, Butler, NJ, on February 18, 2009, in his 79th year. Brother Thomas was a professed Franciscan Friar for 56 years. Brother Thomas entered the Franciscan Order in 1951. His longest term of service in New Jersey was sacristan and doorkeeper at St. Bonaventure Friary, Paterson, for 25 years. He held similar posts at St. Francis Church, Manhattan, NY, and at Sacred Heart Friary, East Rutherford, NJ. Brother Thomas was an alumnus of St. Bonaventure University, Allegany, NY. In 1999 he retired to St. Anthony Friary, Butler, where he was sacristan and telephone operator. He is survived by his Franciscan confreres, and sister, Mrs, William Mulcahy of Melrose, MA. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 21, 2009, at 10:15 AM at St. Bonaventure Church, Paterson, NJ. Visiting, 5:00-9:00 PM, on Friday, February 20, also at St. Bonaventure Church. Wake Service will be at 7:30 PM, Friday. Cremation private. Interment of ashes at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Arrangements by the Morrison Funeral Home, Butler, NJ.
