Carleton "Carl" William Wyss, age 87, of Butler, died Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at the Fireman's Home in Boonton. Mr. Wyss was born June 8, 1923 at Winthrop, MA the son of the late Charles W. and the late Edna M (Larkin) Wyss. He served in the Navy during World War II, and was a telephone repairman for Lucent Technologies in Riverdale, NJ. Mr. Wyss was a member of the Exempt Firemen, the Fire Chiefs Association, the Firemen's Relief Association, the Butler VFW, the Butler XYZ Senior Club, former member and Chief of Keil Hook and Ladder Fire Company, Butler, NJ, a Bell Telephone Pioneer and parishioner of St. Mary's RC Church Pompton Lakes, NJ. He is survived by his beloved children, Yvonne Foster and husband Richard and Jackie Detwiler and husband Jim, his cherished grandchildren, Michael and Mark Foster and Stephen and Phillip Detwiler, and a loving sister, Katherine Anderson. Carl was predeceased by his devoted wife Joyce and adored grandson Brad Donaldson. Viewing hours will be Friday, June 18th, 2010, from 3:00 to 5:00pm, and 7:00 to 9:00pm at The Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler, NJ. A funeral Mass will be held Saturday 10:00am at St. Anthony RC Church, Butler, NJ. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Butler. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Keil Hook and Ladder Co., 2628 Carey Ave. Butler, NJ 07405, in his memory.
