Carol "Rusty" Ball (Knox) passed away peacefully Friday, December 28, 2018. Carol was born on May 20, 1945. and raised around Evansville, Indiana. Right after high school she joined the Army and for her to attend nursing school. After graduating from surgical training in the Army she was assigned to Camp Zama Hospital in Japan where she was instrumental in helping to save the lives of servicemen from Vietnam especially during the Tet Offensive. She also met her future husband Richard in Japan. Carol and Richard were married in Washington, DC on August 2, 1969 and eventually moved to New Jersey in 1972. They have lived in Kinnelon, NJ since 1979. During their time in NJ Carol and Richard had been active in square dancing, serving as officers of Northern New Jersey Square Dancers Association. Carol leaves behind her loving husband Richard, one sister, Susy Phillips, a brother John Knox, two sisters in law, Juanita Ball and Edith Linder, and 10 nieces and nephews. All services were held in private.
