Carolyn Grosskreutz

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carolyn Genevieve Grosskreutz (nee Struble) of Wayne, NJ on December 21, 2024. Carolyn was born in Butler, NJ and settled in Pequannock after marrying. She was a long-time member of Holy Spirit Church in Pequannock where she volunteered for many activities including the Rosary Altar Society. After graduating Butler High School, Carolyn attended nursing school for one year at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Paterson and subsequently worked for the Bell Telephone Companyin both Butler and Belleville. After raising her children, she worked for J. C. Penney in Wayne, NJ for many years until retirement. She loved playing cardsand Rummikub, reading and doing jigsaw puzzles,going to the movies and the theater, and spending time with her family and friends.

Carolyn is predeceased by her husband Albert. She is survived by her children Lisa Grosskreutz of Somerset, NJ; Susan Nye and husband Johan of Centreville, VA and grandchildren Andrew Nye of Brooklyn, NY and Carrie Nye of Manhattan; her brothers James Struble of Butler and Roger Struble of Cape Coral, FL and many nephews and nieces. 

A mass in Pequannock and celebration of life will be held at a later time.
