Catherine A. Rubino

Rubino, Catherine A. (nee Rizzuto), born on May 18, 1922, of West Milford, passed away peacefully at Sunrise of Wayne on February 8, 2017. Born at home in East Orange, N.J. to Mariano and Mary Rizzuto. She lived in a four family home, full of love, her father built with his six brothers. Catherine fell in love and married Frank Rubino in 1941 (deceased 1989). They resided happily in East Orange N.J. until 1958 before moving to West Milford N.J. Catherine was a gifted seamstress and designed sample clothing and gowns for department store windows in Newark's "Downtown". She was a loving, devoted and spiritual mother and grandmother to her children, Catherine L. Horsburgh (nee Rubino) and her husband Thomas of West Milford; Frank J. Rubino and his wife Shelley Rubino of Hanahan, S.C. She was a loving and caring grandmother to Tom Horsburgh, Jr. (deceased 2001), Frank K. Rubino, Michael J. Horsburgh, Nicole Rubino, Cheyenne Jannace and Catherine Meyer. She was blessed with 8 beautiful great-grand children who were the light of her life. She also leaves behind her brother Melchior J. Rizzuto and sister-in-law, Teresa Rizzuto of Stockholm N.J. and sister Mary DiMasso previously deceased. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 12, 2017, from 4 to 8pm at the Morrison funeral home 86 Bartholdi Ave., Butler, NJ. Funeral Mass, 11 AM, February 13, 2017 at St. Joseph's Church 454 Germantown Rd. W., Milford, N.J.
