Charlene Simpson Charlene Simpson, aged 72, died suddenly on June 12, 2019 at home in Stockholm, New Jersey. Charlene was born on September 29, 1946 in Hackensack, New Jersey. She is predeceased by her parents Charles Fisher and Grace Baldauf, father-in-law Oliver Simpson, and son Timothy Simpson. She is survived by her husband James Simpson, her daughter, Jennifer Simpson, her former son-in-law Martin Voelker, her grandsons James Voelker, 19, and Timothy Voelker, 15, and her mother-in-law Margaret Simpson all from Stockholm, NJ. Also mourning her loss are her 2 sister and brothers-in-law, 2 nieces, 3 nephews, a great-niece and nephew, and Jennifers boyfriend Michael Kotch. Charlene graduated from Butler High School in Butler, New Jersey. In 1966, Charlene married the love of her life, James Simpson after which they moved to Bloomingdale, New Jersey. It was in Bloomingdale where they created their life together and began their family. A doting mother to Jennifer Lynn and a multi-talented homemaker, Charlene expressed her creativity at home utilizing her skills as a cook, baker, seamstress and crocheter. She also made time to volunteer as a Girl Scout leader, was very active in the church community at Bloomingdale United Methodist Church and later at the Stockholm United Methodist Church where she was a member of the church choir. Charlene was selfless, loving, kind and supportive. She was always there for everyone. She truly treasured and enjoyed life. She loved with her whole heart. To those who knew her she was a loyal and faithful friend. She was a sympathetic ear, a staunch supporter and source of strength to all who needed her. Charlene thoroughly loved being a mom and grandmother. She was an active grandmother attending as many of her grandsons activities and events as possible. She was well known as "grandma" and "mom" to many of those who knew and adored her. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister-in-law, aunt and friend. She will be mourned by her family, friends and beloved dog, Lucky. Her smile and laughter will be profoundly missed. There will be a viewing from 10am - 11:30am (doors will open after the family has had some private time with Mom) All are welcome to follow the family to Mt. Rest Cemetery for a graveside service at 11:30am -12pm All those wishing to join the family in remembering the life and love of Charlene are welcome to join us for a Celebration of Life Memorial Service on Friday, June 21 from 7:30 - 8:30pm at Stockholm United Methodist Church 38 Route 515, Stockholm, NJ In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent in her name to the Michael J.
