Charles Joseph

Obituary Charles Joseph, 86, passed away on January 7, 2022. Charles was know as Charlie to those in his work life and as Joe to those closest to him. The son of Charles Joseph and Catherine Joseph nee Pilcz, Charles was born in Vrosld, Hungary. His youth was spent predominantly in Nutley, NJ and his young adulthood in Pompton Lakes, NJ. Charles was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having been stationed in France. Charles loved to work and had two careers. The first of which was as a foreman with International Wire Corporation in Midland Park, NJ. The second of which was as a Shipping and Receiving Manager at Bergen County Technical School and Special Services, Hackensack Campus where he worked until the age of 83. Charles was a kind, respectful and generous person. Above all, he was a dedicated family man. He loved his house, his home, his yard. While his family came first, he valued people and was always happy to help others as he was able. His generosity of spirt was admirable. Charles loved life, appreciated all that it had to offer. He took nothing for granted and lived his life to the fullest. Charles was married to Judith Joseph nee Jacovelli and lived in Bloomingdale, NJ until his passing. He is predeceased by his brother John and his brother-in-law Paul Violette of Portsmouth, RI; his brother-in-law Edward McVeigh of Norwalk, CT and a cousin, Michael Pilcz of Huddleston, VA. Charles is survived by Judith, his two devoted and beloved children, daughter Susan L. Joseph of Bloomingdale, NJ, son Steven C. Joseph of West Chester, PA, and his wife Susan B. Joseph and two cherished grandchildren Grady J. Joseph and Taylor G. Joseph, his sister, Barbara E. McVeigh nee Joseph of Norwalk, CT, a sister-in-law Marilyn Brockhuizen and her husband John four nieces, and two cousins, Franciska Roth and Erzsebet Varga, their husbands and children in Hungary. Charles' spirit, determination and love for those around him will be greatly missed. A private ceremony was held for Charles on January 11, 2022.
