Charlotte M. Plath

December 1, 1938 — April 30, 2019

Charlotte M. Plath Charlotte Muller Plath was born on December 1, 1938, in Mt. Kisco, New York, the loving daughter of Henrietta (Sterling) Muller and J. Blair Muller. The family lived in Croton Falls, New York, and Char was educated in Croton Falls, North Salem, and Purdys Central Schools, all in New York. In 1953, they moved to Mallets Bay, Vermont, and Char graduated from Burlington (Edmunds) High School in 1956. Charlotte went on to the University of Vermont where she met her husband, Richard L. Plath. The two married in 1958, and lived in New York before moving with their two daughters to New Jersey, making their home in Kinnelon. Char was a travel agent for 27 years and belonged to the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), the American Association of Travel Agents (ASTA), and the International Air Transport Association (IATA). She did some lobbying in Washington, D.C., for ASTA, and belonged to the Friends of Kinnelon library, and the Fayson Lakes Association. Char was a member of the National Ski Patrol for 17 years and enjoyed many ski vacations with family and friends. Her career in travel enabled her to travel to 18 Caribbean Islands, the Far East, Southeast Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Mexico. In spite of a spinal cord injury in 2000, Charlotte always had an amazingly cheerful disposition, and thanks to her loving husband and wonderful caregivers, she was able to achieve a long, happy life. Char was an inspiration to all who knew her and her smile and great sense of humor spread happiness wherever she was. She was pre-deceased by her husband, and by her grandson, Richard T. Sensbach. She is survived by her daughters, Janet M. Vogt and her husband Bill, and Judith R. Bohn and her husband John, as well as her grandchildren, Kevin Sensbach; Brian and Danielle DiGangi; Linda and James Bohn; Julia Eckhardt and her husband Donnie; and Allison, Kyle, and David Vogt.
