Christopher Lewis

Christopher E. Lewis of Butler, NJ, suddenly and unexpectedly, passed away on May 11th, 2022, at the age of 47. Chris was born on November 7th, 1974, in Hackensack, NJ. He grew up in Montclair, NJ and graduated from Montclair High School in 1992. He was known to be athletic and adventurous during his teenage years, just ask his older brother. Upon graduation from Montclair High School, Christopher attended Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, North Carolina where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1997. Immediately after college, he started his career in Information Technology with Edu-Met, Inc., in Union, New Jersey. He progressed while there and in 2005 received another great opportunity with the Paterson Public School District. His employment there continued until his passing. Christophers successful career path continued while working with Paterson Public Schools. He was enthusiastic and always ready and willing to assist the district in achieving excellence in its educational and technical goals for the sake of the children of Paterson. Recently, his efforts and work ethics were rewarded with a promotion to Executive Director of Technology and M.I.S. Chris was blessed with a devoted and loving family. He and his wife, Vivian, were married for 17 years. Their relationship was blessed with two wonderful children Jayden and Kasey. He loved spending time with his kids - taking them to theme parks, family trips, teaching them dedication through sports. They brought him absolute joy and happiness as they grew and excelled in life. Chris was a motorcycle enthusiast. He loved the sounds and the feeling of an open road and all out speed on a track. He couldn't help himself but to hold a tight curve and accelerate insanely out of a turn. Chris also loved grilling and smoking meat he had a passion for creating an amazing flavorful smoke that always led to requests for his BBQ ribs that he loved sharing with family and friends. Chris is survived by his wife, Vivian; his son, Jayden, his daughter Kasey; his parents, William, and Marilyn; his brother, Scott, sister in-law, Sara; mother in-law, LaVerne; an aunt, Linda; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
