Cornelius Tanis, Jr.

Cornelius Tanis, Jr. age 76, of Summerville, SC, widower of Martha Dittamo Tanis, died Thursday, September 29, 2011. Mr. Tanis was born March 24, 1935 in Paterson, NJ a son of the late Cornelius Tanis, Sr. and Eva Marks Tanis. He was a US Navy Veteran and a reitred foreman with Bayer Company. Survivors include three sons, James Tanis of Summerville, SC, Robert Tanis of Vernon, NJ and Charles Tanis of Sparrowbush, NY and one daughter, Kathleen Rapp of Jefferson,NJ and their families;four brothers and eight grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, November 13, 2011 2:00-4:00 PM at The Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Ave, Butler,NJ. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5900 Core Road, Suite 504, North Charleston SC 29406.
