Cynthia Ann Hopper 7.19.1959 4.25.2020 It is with heavy hearts that we said goodbye as Cyndy departed this life on April 25, 2020 and peacefully entered into eternal life after her long courageous battle with cancer. Cyndy fought hard with a smile on her face and always thinking of others before herself. A devoted daughter, sister, wife, MOM and friend, Cyndy had such a generous heart and was full of spunk, strength, generous spirit, passion and hope. Cyndy will not be remembered because she grew up in Riverdale NJ, graduated from Kinnelon High School in 1977, got her degree from Centenary College in Early Childhood Education or that she worked at Channel Lumber where she met her husband Charlie, or even that she spent 20 years working at Hoffman La Roche. Cyndy will be remembered for how she made people feel and helped them to shine, making their accomplishments more important than her own. She will be remembered for her contagious smile, her laughter with tears in her eyes, her connection with children, her kindness, selflessness, strength and love for others. She will be remembered for her love of children, fostering and caring for young children before adopting her sons Charles and Sam. She will be remembered for her Bloomingdale Community Service and advocacy for children. Her decade long work on the Bloomingdale Municipal Drug Alliance, the childrens recreational programs, day camp, school events and assisting others in need was her passion. Cyndy preferred to spend her life behind the scenes, attending to details and making sure others were successful and shined. Cyndy passed from this life as she lived life, behind the scenes, (due to visitation restrictions due to covid19) with her nurse in the Comfort Care Unit of Morristown Memorial Hospital by her side on her journey home this time though she truly felt the love and support of family, friends and the community surrounding her and embracing her during her final days and hours. The family wishes to deeply thank the nurses and staff on the Comfort Care Unit of Morristown Memorial for their compassionate care during this challenging time for families and healthcare workers alike. The family also wishes to sincerely thank the Bloomingdale Community for the tremendous support they have provided to Cyndy, Charlie and the boys during her long battle. Cyndy is survived by her husband Charlie, sons Charles and Sam, and two doting cats Midnight and Smokey. Also survived by her parents Marilyn and Samuel Winning, brothers Steven (Barbara) Winning, Brian (Rosalie) Winning, Scott (Linda) Winning and Sister Sue Winning (Cheryl Dolida). Cyndys living angels: Crystal Roehrig and Keith Ciottariello (Alyana and Lourdes). She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Richard (Danielle) Winning, Matthew (Katherine) Winning, Jonathan Winning, Marc (Tiffany)Winning, Brianna Winning, Adam (Michael) Winning, Kimberly Winning; 1 great nephew and 4 great nieces. Cyndy is also survived by many friends she called family and her community of Bloomingdale. Cyndy has taken a piece of our hearts with her and replaced it with a greater gift for each of us in the memories of her good life and the impact on us. May the values she taught us live on in the hearts of those she touched and may her spirit live on in her family, friends and community to carry on her legacy. "People will forget what you said, People will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel" Maya Angelou As our communities are able to come together again there will be a Celebration of Life to honor Cyndy with her front and center in the spotlight. Rest in peace our dear daughter, sister, wife, MOTHER, and forever friend Arrangements being handled by Morrisons Funeral Home in Butler NJ.
