Daniel L Canty

Daniel L. Canty, age 66, of Butler, passed away on January 11, 2022, with his family by his side. Born on July 7, 1955, and raised in Butler, Dan was one of eight children. He was a hardworking man who loved working with his hands and tinkering around in his garage, fixing anything from lawn mowers to dirt bikes and four wheelers. He was recently retired from the Department of Public works of Butler and was a dedicated firefighter for 47 years. He had a great passion for helping people and was quick to lend a hand to any friend in need. Most of all,he adored his family and spent all of his time enjoying them. Dan is survived by his loving children, Daniel Canty Jr., Chelsea Canty and her partner Claudio Vacca, Megan Lakawicz and her husband Adam, Travis Canty, Carolyn Caputo and her husband Anthony, and the mother of his children Zina Canty. Adored grandchildren, Daniel Canty, Isabella Canty, Adam Lakawicz, Jr, Kevin Lakawicz, and Callie Caputo. Siblings, Betty Ann Canty, Raymond Canty and his wife Jill, Johnny Canty and his wife Pam, Patty Morse and her husband Roger, William Canty and his wife Roberta, Rayona Ball, and Michael Canty. Dan was predeceased by his mother Elizabeth (Padusnak) Canty and his father Raymond Canty. Visitation will be held Friday, January 14, 2022, from 4:00pm-8:00pm at St. Anthonys Church, 65 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler. A funeral mass will be offered Saturday, January 15, 2022, 10:00am at St. Anthonys Church, burial will immediately follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. . There are no gallery images.
