David Ray Tintle, 68 years old, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2019, at his home in Bloomingdale, N.J. David was born October 11, 1950 and lived his entire life in Bloomingdale. He was raised by his parents Thomas and Dorothy Tintle on Van Dam Ave. Thomas passed away in 1996 and Dorothy in 2018. David was extremely devoted to his parents, especially his Mom after the death of his Father. David was a 1968 graduate of Butler High School. His Senior year he won the election to serve as "Mayor for a Day" in Butler. Like all the other brothers, he worked a short time at Tintle's Esso (Exxon) working for his dad. He later became a keypunch operator for a business in Little Falls. He had a passion for cooking and received chef training in Point Pleasant, N.J. and returned home to work briefly at the Lobster Shanty on Union Ave. in Bloomingdale. David then took a job at the Wanaque Reservoir where he remained for 35 years. Upon retirement David spent most of his time sitting at his Moms kitchen table discussing sports and politics. He helped get her garden ready each Spring so she could sell the dollar bags of vegetables on her street stand. David enjoyed talking politics and sports with anyone who wanted a good debate. He played a few years of local softball at Delazier Field and never missed a chance to watch his brothers play in their games. He enjoyed watching his nephews play high school and college sports. He enjoyed driving his Mom to see the grandchildren's games. On the way home they would always discuss the game and how bad the referees were. David spent most of his life attending the Bloomingdale Baptist Church where his Dad was the Superintendent of the Sunday School and many of his Aunts were the teachers. Once oldest sister Helen went to the University of Oklahoma, the entire family became Sooner fans. David and his Mom never missed a Sooner Football game or Girl's softball game on TV. David's Dad died in 1996, older sister Helen in 2008, and his Mom in 2018. He is survived by brother William Thomas Jr. of Shandaken, N.Y.; brother Paul Heusser of Mount Arlington, N.J, brother Ronald and wife, Penny (Jones), of Honesdale, Pa.; sister, Ann and husband Bill Jones of Bloomingdale; sister Phyllis and husband, Gary Stymacks, of West Milford, N.J.; brother, Phillip and wife Crystal (Firtek), of Vernon, N.J.; and eleven nieces and nephews.
