Dennis Lonagan, 58, was an Active Assistant Chief of the Butler Fire Department. He was the Company Chief of the Pequannock Engine and Hose Company in the Department. Dennis passed away Thursday morning, November 6, 2014 in his home in Kinnelon. Dennis spent much of his life as a member of the Emergency Services. He especially a huge loss to the Butler Fire Department, at which he was not only a Chief, but the Training Officer, as well as a great mentor and friend. He is survived by his dear mother, Mary Lonagan, his beloved son Brian Lonagan, the love of his life, Erika Goldsmith, his loving sisters, Peggy Dispenza and husband Jack and Patty Voskinarian and husband Onick and is also survived by nieces and nephews. Viewing hours will be Sunday, November 9th , 2014, from 4:00 to 7:00pm and Monday, November 10th , 2014, from 2:00 -4:00 and 7:00-9:00pm at The Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler, NJ. A funeral Service will be held Tuesday 10:00am also at the funeral home. Internment is at the Pompton Reformed Cemetery, intersection of Hamburg Turnpike and Ringwood Ave in Pompton Lakes. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The New Jersey Firemans Home, 565 Lathrop Avenue, Boonton, NJ 07005, in his memory.
