Derek Michael Sabo, age 20, of Kinnelon died suddenly Saturday, January 26, 2013. Mr. Sabo was born in Pompton Plains, NJ, he was a parishioner of Our Lady of Magnificat Church in Kinnelon and a former member of the choir, played bass and backup vocals in his band "A Secret Vice", worked as a cashier for Wayne Pharmacy in Butler and was a host at Chilies in Riverdale and Applebee's in Butler, NJ. Derek was currently a sophomore in William Paterson University, Wayne, NJ. He is survived by his beloved parents, Michael and Mary (Fox) Sabo, his dear grandparents, Stephen and Barbara Sabo and William and Patricia Fox, three loving siblings, Dana, Drew and Michael Sabo, his devoted girlfriend Marlene and is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, January 30th, 2013 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm at Our Lady Of Magnificat RC Church, 2 Miller Road, Kinnelon, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered Thursday 10:00am also at Our Lady of Magnificat RC Church, Kinnelon, NJ. All other services will be private. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Kinnelon High School Music and Performing Arts Dept. checks should made out to The Kinnelon Board of Education with a notation in the memo section; Derek Sabo Memorial.
