Dewayne W Davenport

Dewayne W Davenport, age 74, of Butler. Passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, August 18, 2021. Mr. Davenport was born in Franklin, NJ, the son of the late Charles and the late Carrie (Van Zile) Davenport. He was a woodshop teacher for many years at Butler Senior High School before retiring. Dewayne was a member of the Butler Republican Club, a 25-year member of the Butler Planning Board, member of the Butler United Methodist Church, member of the over 40 softball league and coached bowling and baseball. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 happy years, Susan (Fredericks) Davenport, his beloved children, Amy McClain and husband RT and Michael Davenport and wife Kristin, his loving siblings, Darlene Dilts and Dora Davenport, his cherished grandchildren, Jack and Nathan McClain and Alexandria and Eliza Mae Davenport. Also surviving are a niece and nephew. Viewing hours will be Saturday, August 21st, 2021, from 9:30-11:30 AM at Butler United Methodist Church, 5 Bartholdi Ave., Butler. A funeral will be offered 11:30 also at Butler United Methodist Church following the viewing. Burial will follow in Mount Rest Cemetery, Butler, NJ.
