Dorothy D. Smith

Dorothy D. Smith, age 78, of Pittsfield, MA, formerly of Butler,N.J., died Monday, peacefully, June 5, 2006 at her residence in, Pittsfield.Mrs. Smith was born December 28, 1927 in Pompton Lakes, N.J. the daughter of the late Wiiliam and the late Dorothy (Horton) DeLazier. She married Walter "Bud" Smith April 9th, 1950 in Butler,N.J.. She was employed by Dr. Arthur Newman Butler, NJ.Mrs. Smith was a 1954 Graduate of Butler High School, and attended the Hackensack School of Nursing for one year. She worked as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Arthur Newman in Butler. Mrs. Smith was active with the Girl Scouts of America in New Jersey, she was a member of the Butler United Methodist Church, and enjoyed crafting, ceramics and oil painting.She is survived by her husband, Walter "Bud" Smith, two daughters, Donna Lee Smith, and Sandra Smith-Gattasso, a Son-in-law, Lawrence Gattasso, Granddaughter, Tiffany Lee Gattasso, Grandson, Brad Lawrence Gattasso, and many Nieces and Nephews. Calling hours will be Friday, June 9th, 2006, from 3 :00-7 :00pm at Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler, NJ. The funeral will be Saturday, June 10th, 2006, at 10:00 at Butler United Methodist Church, Bartholdi Ave., Butler with Rev. Stephen Bechtold officiating.Burial will be in Mt. Rest Cemetery, Butler on Saturday at 11:00 am.
