Dorothy Hofferman, formerly Dorothy Walzer, of Pompton Lakes passed away on July 11th, 2015 at Hospice of New Jersey following a long illness. She was 80 years old. Mrs. Hofferman was born in Lyndhurst, NJ in 1934 to John and Elizabeth Snyder and was one of eight siblings. She was a homemaker for many years and then worked as an administrative assistant for Prudential Insurance Company for nineteen years, retiring in 1993. Mrs. Hofferman enjoyed singing, playing the guitar, watching classic movies and spending time with her family and granddogs. Surviving her are her daughter, Barbara Vieth and husband John of Ringwood, Albert Walzer, Jr. and his wife Megan of Butler, and Kathleen Decker and her husband Wayne of West Milford. She was the beloved grandmother of Paula Wagner of Texas and Paige and Lydia Decker of West Milford. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Snyder of Florida as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her beloved granddog Sebastian. She was predeceased by her husband Irving Hofferman in 2006 as well as her parents, brothers and sisters. A Memorial Service will be held at The Morrison Funeral Home 86 Bartholdi Ave. Butler, NJ on Saturday, July 25th from 1pm-3pm.
