Dorothy Maurer

Dorothy Maurer, age 99, of Bloomingdale died Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Maurer was born October 21, 1923, in Yonkers, NY the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Florence (Taylor) Nold.

Dorothy served in the Navy during World War II. She moved from Yonkers to Pompton Lakes, NJ her long-time residence from 1955-1982. During that time Dorothy and her beloved husband “Gerry” purchased their second home in what they called paradise in the late 70’s in Ocean Beach, NJ and retired there  in 1982 after moving from Pompton Lakes NJ. This was mom and dads “happy place” forever known as the summerwind. Dorothy worked and retired from A Plus Printing in Lavallette, NJ.

Dorothy is survived by her loving family, sons Paul Maurer and wife Susan Maurer, Christopher Maurer and wife Sue Maurer, Kevin Maurer and wife Joann Maurer, daughters Jane Eakins and Kelly Luke. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Greg, Brian, Paul Jr, Katie, Larissa, Jennifer, Logan, Michael, Shayna, 4 great grandchildren, and her sister Betty and husband Patrick Griffin of Hopewell Junction, New York. Dorothy is predeceased by her beloved husband Gerard, 11-1997 and son Gregory 1-2021, and her brother Robert Nold in 2020.

Viewing hours will be Tuesday, December 27, 2022, from 3pm to 7pm at The Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home Inc., 86 Bartholdi Ave., Butler, N.J. A funeral Mass will be offered Wednesday, December 28, 2022, 10am at St. Anthony RC Church, Butler, NJ. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Butler, NJ.
