Dr. William J. Cannon

Dr. William J. Cannon, 79, of Kinnelon, passed away on August 27, 2017. Born on December 10, 1937, in Paterson, son of William and Anne Cannon, he attended Chaminade High School in Mineola, New York. Dr. Cannon graduated from Georgetown University in 1959 and in 1965 completed his D.D.S. degree from Georgetown Dental School. After serving in the United States Public Health Service, Dr. Cannon opened his dental practice in West Milford, New Jersey in 1970. He also served as president of the International Association of Begg Study Groups. Dr. Cannon was an avid golfer and bicycle rider. He is survived by his wife, Judith; three children Laura and her husband Jon Olstein, Douglas, and Steven and his wife Norma; grandchildren Bronwyn, Shawn, Camila and Ciaran; his sister Diane and brother Jeff and sister-in-law Athene; Visitation will be at Our Lady of The Magnificat Church, 2 Miller Road, Kinnelon, NJ on Thursday, August 31, 2017, from 4 8pm. A funeral Mass will be held at the Our Lady of The Magnificat Chapel on Friday, September 1, 2017 at 11am. Burial will follow the Mass in the Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Willing Hands, 91 Kinnelon Road, Kinnelon, NJ 07405. In The Ryan Room Family and friends will meet at the Church Chapel in the morning, not the main church.
