Edward D. Dwyer, age 85, of Butler died Friday, March 29, 2013 at home surrounded by his family. Mr. Dwyer was born in Butler, NJ, the son of Dennis and Eulalia (Trumbour) Dwyer. He was a Union Electrician, and proudly served his country in the Merchant Marines during WWII and was also a member of the National Guard. Mr. Dwyer was a member of the Butler XYZ's, a parishioner of St. Anthony's RC Church, Butler, a member of the Butler Planning Board and former Councilman, Active Fire Police Chief and member of the Bartholdi Hose Company for 63 years. He is survived by his two sons, Edward Dwyer and his wife Lucille, and Michael Dwyer and his wife Cathy, two cherished grandchildren, Liza Waer and husband Joshua, and Richard Dwyer and fiance Jillian and one adored great-grandchild, Maximus Waer. Ed was predeceased by his wife Jean. Viewing hours will be Monday, April 1st, 2013, from 2:00 -4:00pm and 7:00-9:00 pm at The Morrison Funeral Home 86 Bartholdi Ave. Butler, NJ. The funeral mass will be Tuesday 10:00 am at St. Anthony's RC Church, Butler. Burial to follow mass at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Butler.
