Elizabeth Hock

Elizabeth "Betty" McCullough Hock January 8, 1925 March 24, 2018 Betty was born in Jersey City to the late Thomas and Agnes Torney McCullough. She lived most of her life in Jersey City before moving to North Bergen 18 years ago. She passed away peacefully at age 93 on March 24. She worked for many years for the American Can Company and was a member of the United Steelworkers of America Union. She loved her Yankees, trips to Wildwood, bingo and parties, and was active in her tenants association. Betty was known for her great generosity, and she never visited anyone empty handed. It may have been food, crocheted gifts or her latest gadget, but she always had something to share. She had a generous heart too, and her friends often turned into family. She was incredibly proud of her Irish heritage and her family, and loved to stay connected with many generations of her nieces and nephews. She was named North Bergen Senior of the Year in 2015. Betty was predeceased by her husband John Hock, her brother Thomas McCullough and sisters Ann Magner, Agnes Rodda and Kay Romer. Betty is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and great-great-great nieces and nephews who will truly miss her. She also leaves behind many devoted friends. Visitation will be held on Monday April 2, 2018 from 9:00am-10:30am at The Morrison Funeral Home 86 Bartholdi Ave, Butler, NJ. A funeral mass will be offered also on Monday, 11:00am at St. Anthony's RC Church 65 Bartholdi Ave, Butler, NJ. Burial will immediately follow mass at Holy Cross Cemetery 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington, NJ.
