Elizabeth White

Elizabeth (Betty) White, 84, of Butler, NJ. On Thursday, March 8, we lost a wonderful mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend who was loved by many. Whether you knew her as Mom, Aunt Betty, Grammy, or Betty White, you have special, often funny, memories to keep. She was happiest when giving to others, and those who tried to give to her would always hear "I dont need anything" in reply. Betty was much appreciated as the familys official clothes mender and maker of baby quilts and afghans. She was a strong woman with an amazing work ethic and incredible abilities that enabled her to work into her 80s. Betty always went above and beyond her responsibilities up through the final role she held as a Leasing Agent for a nine story apartment building, a position she retired from at 82. Betty was born in Passaic and remained a life-long resident of New Jersey. She graduated from Butler High School in 1951 and raised her family in Butler. Betty was pre-deceased by her devoted husband, Leonard "Bud", in 1982. In her later years, she experienced great joy watching her grandsons play football. She could easily be heard cheering in the crowd, and you could hardly keep up with her as she raced to get to the stands before the first kick-off. She loved road trips with her daughter and sister and enjoyed connecting with friends. Betty had a strong faith that sustained her through lifes challenges and a dedication to the Church. Betty is survived by her beloved children, a son Bill, and his wife Laurie of Butler, NJ and a daughter Camilla and her husband Jeff Madigan of Winthrop, MA. Also surviving are her loving sister Irene of Franklin, NJ, three cherished grandchildren, Nicole, Greg, and Billy of Butler and her dear nieces Diane Carroll of Franklin and Brenda Carroll of Aldie, VA. She will be greatly missed for her giving heart, great sense of humor, strong determination and dedication to her family. Family and friends will gather at the Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Ave., in Butler, NJ on Tuesday, March 13, from 5:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. Anthonys Church in Butler at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday. The final disposition will be in private.
