Elizabeth (nee Burns) Woodier, 97, of Moss Bluff, LA, formerly of West Milford, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 6, 2017. Betty was born to Margaret and James Burns in Dundee, Scotland and came to the United States at the age of 4. She married Alfred S. Woodier, who passed away in 1974, and lived in Paterson until moving to West Milford. After moving to Moss Bluff, Betty traveled home to NJ for special family occasions and holidays as she loved spending time with her family. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, the #1 fan of the New Orleans Saints, a beloved member of the Moss Bluff Seniors and worked for Walmart many years before retiring to tend to her pool, yard and flowers. Betty will be greatly missed by her loving family and is survived by her children Robert and wife Peggy of West Milford, Carol and husband John of LA; her grandchildren Kenneth and Karen of LA, Kristin, Nicole, and Robert Jr. of NJ. Great grand children Brian and Kailey of LA and Victoria, Melanie, Brianne, Andrew, Sarah, Gavin and Alexis of NJ. She was also loved and will be missed by her nieces, nephews and families in NJ and her dear friends in Moss Bluff. Betty is predeceased by Alfred and sisters Margaret, Mary and Helen. A Mass celebrating Betty's life will be held at St. Anthony's RC Church, 86 Bartholdi Ave, Butler, NJ on April 28, 2017 at 10 am. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Betty's memory to Mission of Honor.
