Emma Bruns

Emma Jane Bruns, known affectionately as Jane to those closest to her, peacefully passed away on March 13, 2024. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Born and raised in Teaneck, NJ, Emma pursued her education at the Eastern School of Physicians Aides in NYC following her graduation from Teaneck High School. It was during this time that she crossed paths with her beloved husband, Henry Bruns. Their union on July 23, 1966, marked the beginning of a remarkable journey together.

Jane and Henry made Hillsdale, NJ, their home,  raising their children Bri Bruns and Tracy Bruns (Kennedy).

Emma's career in the medical field blossomed as she devoted her talents to the radiology department of Pascack Valley Hospital. Her adeptness in medical transcription, fueled by her remarkable typing skills, further exemplified her dedication to healthcare.

Retirement provided Emma with the opportunity to pursue her passion for animal welfare, particularly dachshund rescue work, which brought her immeasurable fulfillment and joy.

Jane will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.   In addition to her husband and children, she leaves behind her son-in-law, Mark Kennedy, grandchildren Cameron, Chase, and Grady, her sister Joanne McCleary, best friend Janet Robinson, and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Visitation will be Monday, March 18, 2023, from 5:00pm-8:00pm at the Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Ave, Butler, NJ 07405.
