BEACH - Father Raymond P., O.F.M., of St. Anthony Friary, Butler, NJ, on September 14, 2009, in his 91st year. Father Raymond was a professed Franciscan Friar for 69 years, and a Catholic Priest for 64 years, Father Raymond, a native of West New York, NJ, entered the Franciscan Order in 1939, and was ordained to the Catholic priesthood in 1945. He first served as an Assistant at St. Francis Church, West 31st St., Manhattan, NY. In New Jersey Father Raymond served in 1947-1950 as Assistant at St. Joseph's Church, East Rutherford, and Assumption Mission. Moving to Most Holy Name of Jesus Church, Garfield, Father Raymond served In years 1950-1961 first as Assistant, then as Pastor, and Local Superior of the Franciscan Community. In upper Passaic County he-became Assistant at St. Francis Church, Wanaque, 1961-1964, succeeding to Pastor 1964-1970. Father Raymond became Assistant at Assumption Church, Wood-Ridge, 1970-1976, and Sacred Heart Church, Rochelle Park, 1976-1981. He then became Chaplain at Mount Alverno Health Care Center, Warwick, NY, from 1981-1983. A Chaplaincy at Mount St. Francis, Ringwood, NJ, 1983-1987 was followed by the post of Assistant at St. Anthony Church, Butler, NJ, 1987-1989. He became Chaplain of St. Joseph's Home for the Elderly, Totowa, NJ, 1989-2005. Father Raymond retired to St. Anthony Friary, Butler, NJ in April, 2005. He was predeceased by a brother, Raymond in California (2002), and a sister, Mildred Quattrini of Montvale, NJ (May 2009). He is survived by his Franciscan confreres, and by nieces Jeanne Harpster (Jerry) of Ridgewood, NJ, Nancy Quattrini of Sharon, CT, Mary Alaine Quattrini of Montvale, NJ, Joanne Sacino (Bruce) of Augusta, GA. Also survived by nephews Raymond Quattrini (Maureen) of Goshen, NY, Richard Quattrini (Linda) of Tenafly, NJ and Windham, NY, and 40 great-nieces and great-nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 17 at 10:45 AM at St. Anthony's R.C. Church, Butler, NJ. Visiting, 4:00-9:00 PM, on Wednesday, September 16, also at St. Anthony's R.C. Church. Wake service will be Wednesday, September 16 at 7:30 PM. Burial to follow Mass, at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Butler, NJ. Arrangements by The Morrison Funeral Home, Butler, NJ.
