Gail (Ciarlo) Sabaliauskas, 65, of Butler, NJ passed away on April 12, 2019 comforted by her family. Gail was born on December 11, 1953 in Paterson, NJ, the middle daughter of Angelo and Alice (Phillips) Ciarlo. After graduating from Kennedy High School, she met and married her soulmate, John Sabaliauskas, on April Fools Day 1978. They moved to Butler in 1983, but Gail wouldnt let the distance keep her from an occasional hot dog all the way from Libbys Lunch. Family meant everything to Gail, and as the product of Italian and Irish-German parents, she had a big one. Holidays, summer barbecues, and the familys annual Thanksgiving Day celebration were raucous, full-day affairs filled with food, drink, and laughter. But for Gail, family wasnt just relatives - she made friends wherever she went and welcomed them as kin. Gail found sanctuary close to home and comfort in her routines, spending time each summer with her family and friends in Cape May. Not a fan of the sand or salt water, she delighted in her early morning boardwalk strolls and closed each day with fine dining and cocktails. She could never pull herself away from a cable airing of Dirty Dancing and was on a never-ending quest for the perfect cheeseburger. After starting her own family, Gail enthusiastically returned to the workforce, becoming an enrolled agent in 1988 and starting her own independent tax preparation business in 1999. She had a passion for her trade, treating every return as a puzzle and every client as family. The bonds that Gail forged over the years spanned generations and she cherished catching up with her clients each winter. As a small business owner herself, Gail was a steadfast advocate for womens equality in the workforce. Gail is survived by her beloved husband of 41 years, John; her sisters, Carmen Melly and Karen McDaniel; her children, Dana Worthing and husband Evan Worthing, Nicole Luciano and husband Daniel Luciano, and Giavanna Melly; her nephew Shane Melly; a boatload of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her three grandchildren that were the lights of her life, Vaughn Worthing, Oliver Worthing, and Frida Luciano. Her wishes were to have a private service for her immediate family, with a separate memorial to be planned for a later date. Those who wish to do so may leave their condolences for the family through the Morrison Funeral Home guestbook. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital in her memory while enjoying a glass of chardonnay.
