George E. Townsend

George E. Townsend, age 64, life long resident of Butler, died suddenly, Saturday, October 31, 2009. Mr. Townsend was born in Butler, NJ the son of the late William and the late Lillian (Brown) Micklitz. He served in the Army during Korean war and was employed by Comfort Control Systems Haskell, NJ as a Truck Driver. Mr. Townsend was a member of the Fire Department and was a Special Police Officer both in Butler, and a NJ State Exempt Fireman.He is survived by his devoted wife, Jean(Kangas) Townsend of 42 years, a beloved daughter Laura, his dear step mother, Helen Micklitz, siblings Clark Townsend of TN and Janet Summers of FL., two cherished grandchildren, Tyler Townsend, and Zoe Buchalski. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. George is predeceased by his adored son Martin, and two siblings, Robert Townsend and Joan Stewart.
