George H. Riemer, age 68, of Towaco, NJ, died Tuesday, February 20, 2018. George was born in Paterson, NJ and raised in Butler, NJ, the son of the late George H. Sr. and the late Marion (Duemmer) Riemer. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War as a Corpsman in the US Navy and was awarded the Navy Achievement medal with combat V. He spent his career taking care of others, including a long tenure as the Chief Burn Technician at St. Barnabas Hospital in Livingston. George was a member of the American Legion, a long time contributor to many veterans and charitable organizations and was very proud of his veteran status. He loved baseball, classic films and music. He is survived by his wife, Paula, and his two beloved children, Jennifer and Matthew. Viewing hours will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm at the Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Ave. Butler, NJ. A Mass will be offered on Saturday 10 am at St. Anthony RC Church, Butler, NJ. Burial to follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery also in Butler, NJ.
