George Solon

George Solon, age 83, of Oakland, NJ formerly of Duryea, PA, died Thursday, January 7, 2016.Mr. Solon was born in Harrisburg, PA the son of the late Michael and the late Julia (Doucho) Solon. He proudly served in the Army during the Korean War, was a parishioner of St. Anthony R.C. Church in Butler and worked as a butcher for Pathmark in Kinnelon, NJ before retiring. He is survived by his devoted wife of 60 loving years, Irene (Dembinski) Solon, his beloved children, George Solon and wife Maureen, Denise Solon, Dave Solon and Lisa Solon and five cherished grandchildren, Julia Van Saun, Matthew Panaro, David Solon, Dana Panaro and Arielle Richardson. Viewing hours will be Monday, January 11, 2016, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at The Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered Tuesday 10:00 am at St. Anthony R.C.
