Gerald "Jerry" J. Witty, age 89, of Bloomingdale, died Thursday, January 7, 2010. Mr. Witty was born in Butler, N.J., the son of the late Charles and the late Julia (Witty) Fear. He served in the Air Force during World War II, was a Supervisor for Pantasote Corp. Butler, NJ. Mr. Witty was a member of and Chaplin of the American Legion John A. Dean Post #154, in Butler, a 12 year member and former President of the Bloomingdale Board of Education, a Republican County Committee Leader in Bloomingdale, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and served on the Fair Housing Board and the Office of Emergency Management both in Bloomingdale. He is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Naomi (DeGraw) Witty, his beloved children, Jerilyn Keenan and husband Patrick and Richard "Rick" Witty and wife Onalise, a loving brother William Fear, and his cherished grandchildren, Christopher and Timothy Keenan, and Justin, Samuel, Travis and Zachary Witty. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Viewing hours will be Sunday, January 10th ,2010, from 2:00 -4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm at The Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered on Monday 10:00am at St. Anthony RC Church, Butler, NJ. The final disposition will be held in private.
