Gerald P Mcgovern

Gerald P McGovern, age 57, West Milford, died Saturday, June 27, 2020 after a courageous three-year long fight with cancer, surrounded by his wife and children. Mr. McGovern was born in Pequannock, NJ, the son of the late John and the late Rosemarie (Hague) McGovern. He was a truck driver for Fedway Associates, Hackensack, NJ for 24 years, and loved history, fishing, music and boxing. He and his wife met 30 years ago at a local concert and shortly after fell in love. He is survived by his devoted wife of 26 years, Deborah (Wenzel) McGovern, his beloved children, Nicholas, Tyler, Morgan and Keira, his loving siblings, Jack McGovern and the late wife Patricia McGovern Kathleen Pallavicini, Patricia Linhart, Marybeth Miskar and husband Frank, Thomas McGovern and wife Kathy and William McGovern and wife Dawn. His brothers in law, Paul Wenzel and wife Michele, John Wenzel and fianc Betty, William Wenzel, Brian Wenzel and wife Jessica, and sister in law, Laura Imbimbo and husband Christopher. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Viewing hours will be held Thursday, July 2nd, 2020, from 4:00 to 8:00pm at The Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler, NJ. A funeral Mass will be held Friday 10am at St. Anthony RC Church, Butler, NJ. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Butler, NJ. The new limits on indoor gatherings for facilities is 25% of the maximum amount of people in a building. Morrison Funeral Home will be able to accept 25 people at a time wearing masks and practice social distancing.
