Gertrude 'Trudy' O'Keefe

Gertrude "Trudy" O Keefe, of Butler, 81, passed away on July 26, 2017. Trudy was born in South Boston, MA, the daughter of the late Jeremiah and Mary Mahoney. She was a parishioner and Eucharistic Minister of Saint Anthony RC Church in Butler and was a member of the Ancient order of Hibernians and the Secular Franciscan Order. Trudy was a registered nurse that worked for many different nursing homes in the local area and was also a Navy veteran serving during peacetime. She is survived by her beloved children, Sharon Leitgeb and husband Chuck, Shawn O Keefe and fianc Famida Thobani and The Rev. J Kevin O Keefe, her loving sister Geraldine Killough and five cherished grandchildren, Eddie and Colin Leitgeb and Shawn, Brendan and Isabel O Keefe. Also surviving are many dear nieces and nephews. Trudy was predeceased by her devoted husband Kevin and her siblings Hugh, Eugene and Edward Mahoney and Marie Brumfield. Viewing hours will be held on Sunday, July 30, 2017 from 4 to 8 PM at the Morrison Funeral Home 86 Bartholdi Ave. Butler, NJ. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, 10 AM, at St. Anthony RC church Butler, NJ. Burial to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, also in Butler.
