Gilbert Van Orden, age 84, of Pequannock formerly of Bloomingdale, NJ, died Thursday, December 6, 2012. Mr. Van Orden was born in Bloomingdale, NJ the son of the late Gilbert and the late Margaret (Card) Van Orden-Hohenstein. He was a line worker for Ford Motor Corp. in Mahwah, a self employed mason/builder/contractor and was an avid reader, fisherman and hunter who loved the outdoors. Gilbert was a member of the Bloomingdale Methodist Church, the Methodist Men and the Silentia Masonic Lodge No 168 in Butler, NJ. He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Flora (Miller) Van Orden, two beloved children, Diane Mathews and husband Warren and Susan Clayton,one loving sibling, Marilynn Bedwin, six cherished grandchildren and ten adored great grandchildren. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Viewing hours will be Monday, December 10th , 2012 from 10 am to 12pm at The Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler, NJ. A funeral service will be held Monday 12 pm also at the funeral home. Burial to follow in Miller Cemetery, Kinnelon NJ.
