Gordon H. Whritenour

A life well lived is a precious gift, of hope and strength and grace, from someone who has made our world a brighter, better place Our loving husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend Gordon H. Whritenour, 64, of Nichols, NY and formerly of Butler, NJ passed away unexpectedly Wednesday morning, July 12, 2017 at his home. Gordon was born on July 5, 1953 in Patterson, NJ a son of the late Edgar and Velma (Osterhoudt) Whritenour. For many years, Gordon was employed by the Raynor Overhead Door Company. Following retirement, he made Nichols his home. Gordon enjoyed hunting, fishing, tending to his vegetable garden and visiting with friends. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus - Oakridge Council 5510. Gordon will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 31 years, Marybeth; his children: Jennifer Whritenour; Julie Whritenour both of PA; Jeffery (Theresa) Dunay of Bloomingdale, NJ; Marie (Ryan) Knutt of Rochester, NY; his special grandchildren: Joseph, Alyssa, Richy, Justin, Marissa, Brianna, Autumn, and Ellie; a great grandson Marcello; his siblings: William Whritenour of NJ; Kenny Joe (Tammy) Whritenour; Barbara (Jim) Frangione; Kim Whitenour; his step mother Cathy Whritenour all of Marathon, NY; father-in-law Erich Leppin of Wanque, NJ; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Gordon was predeceased by his parents; a infant brother and sister; brothers Edward and James and his mother-in-law: Eleanor Leppin; and a grandson Connor Knutt. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Monday, July 17, 2017 from 2 - 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Ave, Butler, NJ 07405.
