Helen A. Cortese

Helen A. Cortese, of Bloomingdale, NJ, formerly of West Milford, NJ, died Thursday, April 9, 2015. Helen was born in Paterson, NJ, the daughter of the late Thomas and the late Elizabeth (McDermott) Mooney. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who as a homemaker dedicated her life to her family's happiness. She is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Ralph P. Cortese; her beloved children, Helen Springstead and husband Ken, Ralph Cortese and Gieniene Cortese; a loving brother, Timothy Mooney and wife Cheryl; and five cherished grandchildren, Lindsay, Jennifer, Tarryn, Dylan and Celeste. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Robert Struble and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Helen was predeceased by two sisters, Patricia Marion and Grace Struble. She will always be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, determination, and her love of life. Viewing hours will be Monday, April 13, 2015, from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm at The Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered Tuesday 11:30 am at St. Joseph's RC Church, West Milford, NJ. The final disposition will be private.
