Hugh F. Larry, Funeral Director, 79 Services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am, at the Morrison Funeral Home, for Hugh F. Larry, of Butler, who died Friday at home. The viewing will be held Tuesday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Mr. Larry had been a Funeral Director for almost 40 years before retiring in 1991. He was employed by The Huelsenbeck Memorial Home (later the Bibbo Funeral Home), Newark; and by The Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, Lyndhurst. In 1947, Mr. Larry graduated from Butler High School as a veteran after returning from the war. He later graduated from the McAllister School of Embalming in 1952. He served with the 6th Marine Division in the Asiatic Pacific and took great pride in being a "China Marine". Mr. Larry was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in action May of 1945. Mr. Larry later joined the Marine Corps Reserves and was a member of the Masons Silentia Centennial Lodge #168 F. & A. M. for 50 years, achieving the title of master mason. He was an active member of the Lakeland Detachment #744, Marine Corps League until the time of his death. He was also a member of Bloomingdale United Methodist Church. Born in Bloomingdale, he lived in Riverdale and Bloomingdale before moving to Butler 13 years ago. Surviving are Burd A., his wife of 13 years; daughters, Donna Usinowicz, Wendy Larry, and Maryellen McManus; stepdaughters Gayle Dunlap and Susan Durett; and a brother, Benjamin Larry. Also surviving are grandchildren Eric Usinowicz, Emily Usinowicz, Kathryn McManus, and Kellan McManus; as well as step-grandchildren Robert Ridlen, Michael Dunlap, and Brian Durett. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be sent to the Marine Corps League, P.O. Box 8, Pompton Lakes, NJ 07442 for wounded veterans and Marines currently serving in Iraq.
