Irmgard “Irma” Christa Goetter

Irmgard "Irma" Christa Goetter, age 83 passed away peacefully on Friday, December 24 at St. Josephs Medical Center. She was a resident of Bloomingdale, New Jersey, from 1990 to 2015 and then moving to Preakness Health Care Center where she was a resident when she died. Irmgard was born on March 18, 1938, in East Prussia, Germany. It was in German where she met her husband of 30 years, Donald F. Goetter who was in the Air Force. She married him on August 11, 1960, and then they came to the United States on January 9, 1961. Irmgard was a homemaker, home health aide, a great cook and loved to color and draw. She was a fiercely dedicated mom to her two children and grandmother to her two grandchildren. Family came first and was above all else, a value she instilled in all those around her. The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill. Irmgard was predeceased by her husband Donald F. Goetter, her parents Martin and Maria Kunast, her two brothers Walter Johann Kunast and Kurt Martin Kunast along with her two sisters Waltraud "Traudl" Bromen, and Hildegard Maria Keilwert. She is survived by her children Donald F. Goetter, Jr and his husband Steve Nagle of Hackettstown, NJ; Vicki L. Goetter and grandchildren Jackson F. Goetter and Savannah C. Goetter of Ocean City, NJ; and her two brothers Horst Adolf Kunast and Gerhard Heinz Kunast, both of Landshut Germany. Visitation will be Thursday, December 30, 2021, from 2:00 pm to 4:00pm and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at The Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler, NJ. A funeral service will be held Friday at 10:00 am also at the funeral home. A presession to the burial site at Pequest Cemetery, Great Meadow, NJ, followed by a remembrance of her life at Mattars Bistro in Allamuchy Township, NJ. . There are no gallery images.
